Diasporic Distractions comes out on 7th October with book launches in Kaula Lampur and Penang in Malaysia. Dr. Keshavjee has been invited to present the Gandhi Memorial Lecture in Malaysia this year on Oct 2 to mark Malaysia’s observance of the UN International Day of Non Violence.
Mohamed Keshavjee’s new book of short stories “Diasporic Distractions” is coming out on October 2.
The Book will cost 25 dollars Canadian and will be available from Khojawiki which will be the sole Canadian distributor of the book.
Since there are a limited number of copies allocated for Canada, it is recommended that you place your order immediately with Khojawiki so that you may secure your copy .
The book has a Malaysian launch slated for October 7 in Kuala Lumpur.
Dr. Keshavjee hopes to come to Canada early next year but had suggested that people get their books now as there are a limited number of copies published and a fair amount have already been taken in Malaysia and the U.K. already.
The book has been endorsed by the London Magazine the oldest literary magazine in the world which electronically covered his short story entitled ” Diasporic Guilt ”
This book of short stories captures life in East Africa during the 1960s and resonates with experiences of Khojas as a minority in Africa. One of the stories in the collection is based in Tajikistan and is based on a real life situation.
