July 18, 2015 Odeum Expo Center:  Ismaili choreographer Mohammed Salim and Team Coordinator Sabeen Ali co-led a team of over 150 participants aged 10 to 80 years from all three Jamatkhanas in Chicago for this year’s Khushiali celebration. The participants performed a dance program specifically designed for the celebration of Mawlana Hazar Imam’s 58th Imamat Day.

“Putting a team together and coordinating such a large team of diverse ages was no easy task” said Sabeen Ali, “but we did it! We all came together as one community and celebrated this joyous occasion.”

Imamat Day is a joyous occasion all over the world where Jamats gather to commemorate Mawlana Hazar Imam’s accession to the Imamat. It is a great opportunity to meet family and friends, enjoy a meal together, and play dandia. As per our long tradition of service, hundreds of volunteers prepared and served delicious food to the large Jamat  gathered in Chicago from across the Midwest region of the United States. The volunteers also took on the mammoth task of cleaning up after the celebration.

The colorful celebratory ambiance, music, and smiling volunteers made this event a memorable one for everyone.
