According to the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) that figure currently stands at 217 million and more than 30% of children are born underweight.

Against this backdrop, lack of refrigeration in rural India is leading to millions of tonnes of fresh produce going to waste every year. India is the largest producer and consumer of milk in the world; 130m tons of milk are produced annually by rural farmers in India, yet a significant proportion of this is lost.

  1. We see innovations solving decades old problem of milk going bad in India. In Pakistan AKRSP initiated the
non smoke stove which helped a lot of people in rural areas to cook their food quickly and healthily. So unless solutions are found by Governments or NGOs, the populace will continue to suffer unnecessarily. Action is what is important. Analyse the problems, work out a solution and serve your country and Humanity well. That should be the mission!
