Anis Charania started his retail electric firm five years ago with the intent of building a business he could one day pass on to his five children.
So far, his three oldest daughters have taken leadership roles at the Houston-based company, which posted $22.2 million in revenue in 2011 and has 14 employees.
The company, which he co-founded with his friend Amirali Bhogani, is the fastest-growing firm on Houston Business Journal’s 2012 Fast 100 list, with a 19,918 percent increase in revenue from 2009 to 2011.
In the U.S., Potentia has 15,000 customers under contract, and as the company grows, Charania said it’s important to make sure honesty, integrity and trust remain at the heart of his family enterprises’ successes, he said.
