Aliya Dad: Life is unpredictable at every instant

Aliya Dad: Life is unpredictable at every instantLife is unpredictable at every instant. Anything can happen at any time, either good or bad because this is the law of nature. Any natural calamity may disrupt the nature because this  is nature. Therefore, we need to ready ourselves all the time in order to handle the situation with care and ease. If things go wrong, we cannot blame our fate or nature, rather we should step back and solve the problem using our senses.

On 4th January 2010, a natural disaster – landslide – struck over and disrupted the entire area of Atta Abad. The victims of landslide were shifted to Altit village, where they are currently living in shelters. The picture on the right is very recent, which I took while crossing the road. I did not want to make any picture but the embraced faces of these children had grabbed my attention from far away because their faces were glowing due to hot weather. Though these people live in shelter, it is extremely hard. The metal roof has made their lives difficult, due to which the small children suffer a lot. I have done survey and I found that their current situation is not stable due to financial difficulties, health issues and education. The people of Atta Abad were almost dependent on irrigation, but after the land slide they are dependent on other people and of course the government. However, it depends to what extent we practice humanity being member of the same community. If we really consider social values, let’s value humanity and take some steps for the sake of our own people, who are vulnerable due to un-predicted natural disasters.

Moreover, due to hot weather, most of the children are having fever, headache, and constipation. As a result, their education suffers. On the other hand, they have difficulty paying school fees unless they attend government schools. The IDPs students, who are studying at private schools, colleges, and universities, have to pay fee by themselves, but due to poor financial condition, they are incapable to pay their fee on time.

According to parents’ response, students were told at the beginning that their private school fee would be waived and it would be taken care of by the government but the government has not made any arrangement. Only once their fee was paid, but now parents are worried about their children’s fee and education. Parents cannot send their children neither they can put up their children’s illiteracy in today’s century. Indeed, it frustrate us when you see your own people sufferings, especially the education of young girls, boys, and children.

Each and every member of our community can take steps for the sake of education and future of these IDPs students.

  1. We can teach green housing and do grow and sell & indirectly waive children fees and pay it from revanue from school green houses.

  2. To Darvesh Karim, I would like to say that I am basically talking about this summer and of course the disaster was occurred in winter, and it has been a long time since the tragedy so the victims have faced problems both in summer and winter. I hope you will understand now, why I am considering both situations.
    Thanks
