Architect Michael Green – working with AKDN in Tajikistan

We know Michael Green is a leading green thinker, but who is the man going head-to-head with Bjørn Lomborg at the Green Cities conference on Tuesday 1 March 2011?

Born in a small Inuit community in the far north-west of Hudson Bay, Canada and now based in Vancouver, Michael Green is a keynote speaker with a penchant for Craigslist, simplicity and high peaks.

Green also works with the Aga Khan Development Network building community housing for the poor in Tajikistan. Helping install sewers, providing water to every home and constructing safe housing in this earthquake-prone area sees Green concentrate on addressing basic human needs rather than high design, a principle he applies to all design projects.
