Why is nobody rushing to help Pakistan? – Mansoor Ladha

Mansoor LadhaPrime Minister Stephen Harper lost my confidence when he recently announced a meagre $2 million of relief aid to flood-ravaged Pakistan.

The situation in Pakistan is so tragic it has been described as worse than Haiti’s earthquake or the tsunami that took place in Asia. The pathetic pictures of children, women and elderly people clinging to trees, rooftops and anything they can get hold of, which we have seen on TV and in the newspapers, should convince us of the human suffering that is prevailing in that part of the world.

  1. Well said Mansoor! Hopefully the Canadian government will provide a better response now that the massive scale of this humanitarian disaster is known.

  2. Mansoor is right. More is needed for victims of pakistan disaster. HOWEVER past expirience with sending aid to pakistan is that aid ends up in wrong place and wrong pockets. I am pakistani and have hand on expirience of hown aid is handled.
