  1. Wow! Professor Regula Qureshi is a living legend. It is truly gratifying to see her present at AKU.

When my family first moved to Edmonton in the 70’s, we had the pleasure of going to a concert at the University of Alberta where Professor Qureshi played the sarangi. That memorable experience has always remained with me over the years.

    1. Dear UofA graduate,
Sorry for this belated response. I was fortunate enough to have attended that memorable event when I met my Ustad-behen Dr. Regula Burckhardt Qureshi for the first time. [Both of us were students of Sarangi maestro Ustad Hamid Husain.]

Dr Qureshi’s lecture was amazingly informative & interesting and I sincerely wished it continued for at least another hour. Another guest of this event was the famous scholar of Urdu, Dr. Brian Silver (of VOA Urdu Service), who is a keen sitar player & musicologist.

Was wondering if some one saved a recording of Dr. Qureshi’s sarangi recital you have mentioned. Her sarangi playing must have been in a lot fluent form then as her learning & practice were quite fresh. // With kind regards,

      Musically,
