Eleven-year-old Zameer Devraj will be participating in the 5 km World Partnership Walk in Vancouver this weekend to raise funds for international development initiatives.
Since its inception in 1985, the walk has raised more than $45 million in support of the Aga Khan Foundation Canada.
Devraj, a Port Moody resident who goes to Meadowridge school and is in Grade 6, is doing the walk because he wants to help people in developing countries, especially children who face poverty every day.
His partnership team is called Hope and he hopes to raise $40,000 in pledges for the walk in memory of his grandfather, Mansur Tejpar, who devoted his life to the Ismaili community and fundraising for the walk.
