The Jamat in Gojal (Hunza) like rest of the world is celebrating Golden Jubilee of the Imamat of Hazir Imam. An entire week of festivity has culminated recently but the celebrations are likely to continue throughout the year. The social upliftment of the society, regard for the regions’ cultural heritage, concern for sustaining the mystic beauty of these mountains and economic development of the region is the outcome of AKDN’s various initiatives. Literacy rate in Hunza is the highest in Pakistan. Females are, visibly, playing a very dominant role in the society’s transformation.
