Amin Muhammad from Ottawa, Canada, has worked as an electronics service technician in printing and packaging industries for more than 45 years. While working professionally, he used to spend free time in graphic designing studios and developed interest in computer graphic designing and learning. He learned to engrave and carve wood and shaping, etching and casting metals like copper and silver.
Engraved and carved in walnut is his submission to the Jubilee Arts Canada.
Amin loves to work with nature and uses natural elements like wood. His art projects carry forward many parallel within religious and spiritual devotions. Engaging art, science, engineering and technology is his passionate work.
The main art piece for Jubilee Arts Canada, titled “Du’a” is made of walnut and the outer frame is oak.
I have chosen to engrave in Thuluth script the Fifth Ayat of Surah (chapter) Al Fatihah (the Opener). This first Surah of our Holy Qaran is also the Surah we recite in the beginning of the first part of our Holy Du’a.

With Allah in Arabic has been V engraved in the center and two praying hands carved on both its side.
