For the 2nd year in a row, Faizal Khamisa is raising toys for sick kids to mark the anniversary of being declared cancer-free. It was 12 years ago when Faizal was diagnosed with non Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, which changed his life. After 2 years of chemotherapy, he was in remission starting June 1st 2007, meaning this marks the 10 year date of being clean of the cancer. To make this even bigger this year, and to show support for all the kids fighting this illness, Faizal will be shaving his head on live TV on June 30th. The hope is to raise even more, and double the amount of toys which was donated last year.

Twelve years ago, I was in the worst place of my life, not sure if I’d make it or not. Thanks to Sick Kids I did. No kid in there deserves what’s happening to them, so we want to try to add a smile to their face, even if just temporary. Finally, what I’ve learned since 2005 is that no matter how low you think you are in life, you have the ability to make them better. It’s pretty unreal to think about where I am now, and where I was over a decade ago. But with faith, and belief, there’s no limits to the heights you can reach.
