The majority of the objects in the museum remain understudied and unpublished. Since January, the museum’s curator Filiz Çakır Phillip and Art History Assistant Professor Doron Bauer have been collaborating to research objects in the collection. As part of the collaboration, students in Dr. Bauer’s undergraduate and graduate seminars “The Art of Islamic Spain” are researching objects from Western Islamic lands and will rewrite the objects’ fact sheets. Filiz Çakır Phillip will visit FSU to discuss the students’ research and to present a public lecture on the museum in G40 WJB.
