Ms. Somani has served as the Chief Executive Officer of Dynacare, since 2005.
She began her laboratory industry career in 1987 as Controller with Park-Med Laboratories, subsequently becoming Director of Finance with Dynacare Medical Laboratories, which acquired Park-Med in 1991. She became Vice-President of Operations and General Manager of the Central Ontario Division in 1996 and led the consolidation of Dynacare’s Brampton Division with Gamma North Peel Laboratory, which created the largest laboratory of its kind in Ontario. She was appointed Senior Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer in 1998. Since becoming CEO in 2005, Ms. Somani has led the company’s expansion into Quebec, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.
Ms. Somani has served on numerous committees in the health care industry during her career. She is currently Chair of the Ontario Association of Medical Laboratories (OAML) and a member of the Board of Directors of Toronto East General Hospital.
In 2001, Ms. Somani was selected by the Indo-Canada Chamber of Commerce as its Professional Woman of the Year, in recognition of her exceptional accomplishments and positive impact on her business, her community and society in general.
Ms. Somani holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Finance degree from the University of Toronto and is a Chartered Accountant. Prior to joining the laboratory industry, Ms. Somani worked for Deloitte, Haskins and Sells.
