July 22, 2016: Eco-Soap Bank (http://www.ecosoapbank.org) announces the opening of two new recycling facilities in Cambodia, expanding on the mission of their original Siem Reap branch. They are well on their way to achieving one of the main goals: to save every soap bar from being discarded in Cambodia, and get them into the hands of people who need them.
The Eco-Soap Bank recycles gently-used soap from 130 hotels in three major Cambodian cities: Siem Reap, Phnom Penh, and Sihanoukville. Before the Eco-Soap Bank intervened, these hotels were sending hundreds of thousands of soap bars directly into landfills. Now, the recycled soap is redirected to schools, health clinics, and orphanages across the country.
On behalf of the entire team, we want to express our heartfelt gratitude for your support, contributions, and keeping global hygiene in mind. In today’s world, far too many suffer from purely preventable illness. We can end that, together, and institute hygiene not as a luxury, but a basic human right.
