PICKERING — A 15-year-old Dunbarton student has received the Ontario Volunteer Service Award for her five years of volunteer work with the Ismaili Council for Ontario – Pickering.
Arianna Dossa has been volunteering with many different groups and causes since she was eight, but has consistently continued to work with the group that nominated her for the award.
“I’m so proud that I’m able to receive this award,” said Arianna, “it’s such an honour that I was nominated, I’m so glad.”
Her volunteer work with the Ismaili Council includes working with many of the elderly members of the congregation, as well as weekly cleaning and setup before and after services.
She got into volunteer work because her grandparents and parents were always involved with work that gave back to the community and she knew the value of giving back.
