Gryphon Trio keeps it interesting after 22 years | Toronto StarBy William Littler Music Columnist, The Star Toronto, Dec 05 2015: Excerpt – Could there be a more timely theme for today? And could there be a more appropriate venue for Constantinople’s revival than the Ismaili Centre next door to Toronto’s handsome new Aga Khan Museum, where the reworked piece received three performances last week.

Constantinople was timely in the period surrounding its premiere in 2000 as well, with the events of Sept. 11 as a backdrop. Although its composer credits the work’s beginning to a creative examination of his heritage and makeup, it has evolved over the years into a celebration of cultural cross-fertilization.
