… But let me write about the Museum. I got lucky actually, because I arrived there around 3:30pm, and it’s free after 4pm every Wednesday. The Aga Khan Museum offers to visitors a heritage of Muslim civilizations across the centuries from the Iberian Peninsula to China, with more than 1,000 objects on its permanent collection.
The collection is very impressive, but for myself, the highlight of the museum is its architecture. To design the museum, Fumihiko Maki, winner of the Pritzker Architecture Prize, used light as his inspiration, in a way that light is ever present in the building and, depending on the time of day or season, light will animate the building in different ways. So, if you live in Toronto, or you’re just visiting the city, Aga Khan Museum is a place that worth the visit.
