Jameel Bandali appointed Alumni Ambassador for Institute of Development Studies

The Institute of Development Studies (IDS) is a leading global institution for development research, teaching and learning, and impact and communications, based at the University of Sussex.

Their present vision is a world in which poverty does not exist, social justice prevails and economic growth is focused on improving human well being. They believe that research knowledge can drive the change that must happen in order for this vision to be realised.

Jameel Bandali appointed Alumni Ambassador for Institute of Development Studies

​Biography

Jameel completed the MA Development Studies program in 2009 and has spent the years since travelling and working for a diverse range of organizations. From operational support at a small community co-op school in Guatemala’s northern interior, to implementing an organizational crisis response plan at a large INGO in Kyrgyzstan, to leading the evaluation of a global volunteer placement program, and even helping a technology startup company formalize sales operations, Jameel has been fortunate enough to have worked in many sectors with incredibly talented people.

Currently, Jameel works for the Government of Ontario as a Program Evaluation Coordinator at the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities. In addition to the postgraduate degree in Development Studies, Jameel also has training in emergency management from the Justice Institute of British Columbia and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Communication Studies from Wilfrid Laurier University.
