Aleem Lakdawala: Middle School Student Receives a 2090 on the SATSAT is a standardized test taken by most high school students in North America for college admissions. It tests students’ skills in advance reading, writing, and mathematics. While most test takers are above 16 years old, there is a minority of middle school students who take the test in order to enter summer programs at Duke TIP, John Hopkins, and Stanford STEM programs.

This year, Aleem Lakdawala, a 7th grader from Marietta, Ga, took the SAT in order to apply for Duke TIP. He scored an aggregate of 2090 out of 2400. Aleem received certificate from John Hopkins University recognizing his talent. He was also recognized by Duke University as a State and National talented youth. Aleem will be spending this summer at Davidson College, studying Engineering and Problem Solving. Earlier in the year Aleem won two medals at his regional science competition. Aleem likes to play tennis, as well as the viola in the school orchestra.
