This year’s Convocation in Tanzania had a special significance as the Aga Khan University celebrated its 15th anniversary in East Africa. To mark this milestone, the Chancellor presided over the ceremony and announced significant expansion of AKU within the East African Community region.
This AKDN YouTube video includes the welcome speech by AKU President Firoz Rasul, AKU Chancellor His Highness Prince Karim Aga Khan’s commencement address, valedictorian speech by Tabitha Nyanja, (a graduate of the Master of Medicine programme) and the granting of degrees.
In total, 58 graduates were conferred with degrees. The Master of Education degree was conferred upon 37 graduates, the Master of Medicine degree was conferred upon 3 graduates and 18 graduates were conferred with the degree of Master of Science in Nursing.
