Imāmology in Ismaili Gnosis. New Delhi: Manohar Publishers, 2015.

The fifth book of Dr. Diana Steigerwald entitled Imāmology in Ismaili Gnosis just came out. It analyses the concept of Imāma developed by Ismailis in different historical and cultural contexts. The present study attempts to bring light on the evolution of Nizārī Ismaili Imāmology from Imām ʿAlī to the present Imām. The main goal is to discover how Ismailis understand the Imām and the concept of Imāma based on his teaching or that of his closest disciples.
The book covers five distinct historical periods: pre-Fātimid, Fātimid, Alamūt (487/1094 to 655/1257), Gnānic (773/1370 to 1233/1818) and the recent period (1233/1818 to the present).

one of the other major Ismaili Centres, esp. Burnaby or Dushanabe on the cover page would have been more of an eye catcher. inspirational and thought provoking than TO centre atleast from the outside.
