All the world’s a stage
The two-day Aga Khan University Club for Theatrics Film Festival 2014 brought together 15 universities from across the city
Aimed at promoting better filmmaking among students, FFACT’14 (Film Festival by Aga Khan Club for Theatrics 2014) provided an opportunity to encourage exchange of ideas and skills with other universities in the field of theatre and filmmaking. This year’s event was unique in that it also included photography as part of the festival.
FFACT’14 managed to attract some established names from both the old and new media industries: jurors for the photography competition included ace photographer Tapu Javeri, Khaula Jameel of the Humans of Karachi, and ENT consultant Dr Iftikhar Salahuddin while the film jury comprised faculty member Dr Syed Ali, and filmmakers Jamshed Mahmood (aka Jami) and Rumman Zia.
Karachi University’s production titled, 8Roch was the winner in the best film over 20 minutes category; it also picked up the best director, best actor and best editing and sound awards.
