Halton Region appoints Dr. Hamidah K. Meghani new Medical Officer of HealthThe Halton Region announced this morning that Oakville resident Dr. Hamidah K. Meghani will serve as the Region’s next Commissioner and Medical Officer of Health, effective Monday, July 14.

Meghani currently serves as Associate Medical Officer of Health for the City of Hamilton.

She received her medical degree from McMaster University, has completed training in Public Health & Preventative Medicine and is a Fellow with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons.

She is also a certified family physician and has a Masters of Public Health in Family and Reproductive Health.

Meghani will replace Dr. Bob Nosal who is retiring after 25 years as Halton’s Medical Officer of Health.
