On September 6, 2013, the Defence Day of Pakistan, Nurse Anila Ali Bardai of the Aga Khan University Hospital defended Pakistan’s honour on another front. She made the nation proud when she won the global award of excellence in neonatal nursing at the 8th International Conference of Neonatal Nurses in Belfast, Ireland. Anila Ali Bardai has been a nurse for 20 years now and she believes the greatest appreciation and recognition she gets is from her colleagues, patients and their families in her everyday life, the award she believes, should be an encouragement for nursing students who are desperately needed in Pakistan. We caught up with Nurse Bardai at the Aga Khan Hospital for a candid chat about her life, career and her achievement.
