I was born and raised in Montreal, Canada. While here, I attended McGill University from which he graduated with a double-Major in Political Science and Religious Studies while also minoring in Philosophy. After graduating, I continued a youth internship with the Canadian Government on a full time basis. A year later, I was accepted into the Secondary Teacher Education Program (STEP), a two-year, fully-funded double-Masters program at the Institute of Ismaili Studies and the Institute of Education, London, UK. After graduating from STEP with a Double Distinction, I started working with the Ismaili Tariqa and Religious Education Board, Canada. My passions include education and the study of pluralism in Canada. I have published articles in this field and continue to pursue an academic interest in this area of research. I enjoy photography, reading, writing, and traveling. I am fluent in both French and English and I hope to have some fluency in Swahili at the end of these 8 months. Through this fellowship, I hope to learn about education in the context of the developing world while also contributing to the work of the Aga Khan University in East Africa.
