The Daughters for Life Foundation believes that lasting peace in the Middle East depends on empowering girls and young women through education to develop strong voices for the betterment of life throughout the Middle East. To that end, we provide scholarships and awards for aspiring young women that enable them to pursue studies otherwise inaccessible to them. Awards are offered to students in Palestine, Israel, Lebanon, Jordan, and Syria, as well as scholarships at the graduate and undergraduate level to study in Canada, the United States and the United Kingdom.
Naushad Hirji is a Senior Partner at NMI Tax Consultants, specializing in tax consulting services. He has served the community in various leadership positions at local, national and international levels since 1990. Naushad is a committed philanthropist and volunteer with a distinguished record of community service. He was Director of Focus Humanitarian, an international humanitarian agency and is a Founding Member and Board Chair of the Social Services Network, a United Way Member Agency.
Naushad has served as Director for the Family Services York Region and is currently on the Board of Governors of the Character Community York Region and the Family Violence Conference (a collaboration with Toronto Police, York Region Police, Peel Police, Durham Police and Children’s Aid Societies of Toronto, York and Peel Region).
