Almas Jiwani honored with 1st Annual Gender and Environment Sustainability AwardTORONTO, ONTARIO–(Marketwired – July 18, 2013) – Almas Jiwani, President of UN Women National Committee Canada, will be honoured with a Gender and Environment Sustainability Award in recognition of her work and dedication to advance gender equality in all areas, including environment, climate change and sustainable development on Saturday, July 20th. The first annual award will be presented at the LEED eco-energy Open House Celebration, hosted by Global Warming Prevention Technologies Inc. (GPWT), an expanding Canadian-based environmental design and clean-tech development corporation. GWPT pursues innovative architectural solutions and essential technologies including, waste conversion, pollution controls and water purification. CEO, Steve Poulos, designed the house, which features many environmental components including the unique incorporation of two existing Norway Spruce trees into a central courtyard.

The event is dedicated as an exclusive fundraiser for UN Women National Committee Canada, with all contributions and proceeds to support the advancement of gender equality and women’s empowerment as vital component needed to achieve equitable sustainable development globally.
