Globally Conscious Canadians Walk to Fight Poverty

Globally Conscious Canadians Walk to Fight PovertyBy Dilshaan Panjwani

On Sunday, May 26, Torontonians walked to end global poverty and generously contributed to the World Partnership Walk, which is an initiative of Aga Khan Foundation Canada (AKFC). The Walk is held annually in ten cities across Canada, attracting thousands of globally conscious Canadians who value Canada’s noble tradition of caring about peace, prosperity, stability and development of the global communities.

Over the years, the Walk has raised over $75 million in individual and corporate donations to fight global poverty. One hundred percent of the funds raised go directly for international development projects supporting education, health, water and food security, and business entrepreneurship.
