We are proud that Ms Almas Jiwani has become president for peace at the Women’s Federation. Women should be given much respect and priority. If they are provided quality education and enabling environment they can achieve ultimate goal in their lives. His Highness Prince Karim Aga Khan always emphasizes to give education to daughters first so they should not be left destitute in mercy of unfavourable circumstances. We appreciate that generally Ismaii women are achieving high positions and they are courageous and committed women. They are a great example for other Muslims in the world. The other example is China which has made great progress in short span of time. It is because of women’s participation in every field of life!

Dear Ibadat Khan, If I may, I would like to correct you. According to Media realeas and her UN Website, Ms Almas Jiwani has been appointed as A GLOBAL AMBASSADOR for Peace (not the president). She is the President of United Nations Women for Gender Equality and Empowerment of Women. As outlined in her UN Website, she is also on the advisory of Middle east and the Government of Indonesia has officially garnered her support to help them draft the Bill of Gender Equalty. Which means Ms Jiwani will have strong influence on how the Indonesian government introduces the Gender Equality Law. This is a very proud moment for our Muslim ummah that one of our Muslim Woman has reached such heights where the governments seeks her advise. Let us hope and pray that we will see more and more women shine like Ms Jiwani is. All Praise is due to Allah.
