Permission obtained for Jamatkhana (northwest London)

The JTS Partnership has just secured planning permission for the rebuilding of the local Prayer and Community Centre (Jamatkhana) used by the Ismaili Community in northwest London. Our planning application, which was supported by Design & Access, Planning and Transport Statements, was reported to Brent Council Planning Committee in December. Members unanimously resolved to support the proposal, subject to the Client entering into a Section 106 Agreement. The Agreement was finally signed in mid-March, so allowing the Council to issue permission just days before the Mayor of London’s Community Infrastructure Levy came into force. Had the permission been issued a few days later, the Community would have had to pay a significant financial planning gain under the CIL Scheme.
