Yasmin Jivraj receives honorary degree from Northern Alberta Institute of Technology

Ms. Yasmin Jivraj – Honorary Bachelor of Technology in Technology Management

Yasmin Jivraj is the president and co-owner of Edmonton-based Acrodex, one of Canada’s foremost information technology companies.

As co-founder of the Canadian Association of Information Technology Professionals (CIPS) Women in Technology – Leap Towards the Future Program, she also encourages young women in junior high school to choose careers in the IT field.

Ms. Jivraj is an active community member. She has served as a board member for both CBC/Radio-Canada and the Edmonton Economic Development Corporation, where she was instrumental in helping to set long-term strategy for Edmonton’s economic future. In addition, she has been a board member of the Aga Khan Foundation Canada, a non-profit, non-denominational development agency that promotes sustainable social development programs in Asia and Africa.
