Thousands come for Chinook Stampede breakfast A tradition since 1960At the Calgary Ismaili Jamatkhana Centre in northeast Calgary, the Ismaili Muslim community had their 15th annual Stampede breakfast with over 5,000 guests as well as a number of political dignitaries.

The group has partnered with the United Way for a program entitled “Achievement Through High School” program to combat the startling high school dropout rate in Alberta.

Thousands come for Chinook Stampede breakfast A tradition since 1960Organizer Habib Kurwa said the funds raised through book drives and canvassing goes toward a bursary for high school students facing financial difficulties.

Since the program started last year, the community organization has presented over $10,000 for the bursary.
