Faaiza Ramji is hoping for better weather for this year’s World Partnership Walk on Sunday.
Ramji hopes for 5,000 to attend the 11 a.m. event at the legislature, with the aim to bring in $700,000, up from the 1,000 people who braved snow and rain to combat global poverty last year.
“We were going to cancel, but the volunteers were the ones who said we cannot cancel,” she said.
To donate people can visit http://www.worldpartnershipwalk.com/edmonton or walk for free and bring donations down to the interactive global village on the legislature grounds.
She said 100% of funds raised go to organizations such as Canadian International Development Agency because the walk is entirely volunteer run.
