Zafira Nanji: What's your legacy?Today’s the anniversary of my brother’s passing, and I have had an introspective 48 hours which I’m going to split into several blog posts, probably tonight and tomorrow.

Growing up, I was surrounded by the notion of Legacies. I think it’s part of being Ismaili, and in my family. My maternal grandmother’s grandfather, father and brother had built Jamat Khana’s … (the Ismaili version of mosques to some of you – literally ‘house of community’)… in India, In Kenya… and growing up, I heard of their great sacrifices … carrying stones and bricks on their backs, fundraising, raising a community to build the buildings; and was told that their names were to be remembered forever, as the buildings held their names on the plaques.
