Mr. Lalani was appointed Consul and Senior Representative for New York in September 2002. In this capacity, he represents the Bank of Canada within the financial community in New York and provides policy and analytical insights for the Bank and the government on developments in the U.S. financial markets. He also works to strengthen relationships between the Bank and New York’s financial community and to promote the development of well-functioning Canadian-dollar financial markets.
Born in Uganda, Mr. Lalani moved to Canada at the age of eighteen.
