The scholar Omar Khalidi passed away on Monday, November 29th. Born in India, he spent much of his professional life in the United States. For 27 years, Khalidi had been the Aga Khan Program for Islamic Architecture (AKPIA) Regional Planning and Development Librarian within MIT’s Rotch Library of Architecture and Planning.
