She calls herself the, “Funny Brown Girl,” and that is exactly what she is. Shereen Kassam is a member of ColorStruck!, New England’s first and only women of color comedy showcase. She was a finalist in Rhode Island’s Comedy Quest in 2008. In 2009, Shereen performed in Boston’s first annual Women in Comedy Festival, opened for the SlumDog Comedy Tour when they rolled through Boston, and was invited to be a part of the fabulous 5 Funny Females Weekend in Boston. In 2010, she was a semi-finalist in the Magners Comedy Festival, performed in the Women in Comedy Festival, opened for Azhar Usman, the co-founder of “Allah Made Me Funny – The Official Muslim Comedy Tour” and co-produced the sold out Boston Comedy Showcase in Harvard Square.
