MEDIA ADVISORY: His Highness the Aga Khan to deliver the keynote lecture at the 10th Annual LaFontaine-Baldwin Symposium

lafontain-baldwin-lectureTORONTO, Oct. 13 /CNW Telbec/ – His Highness the Aga Khan, the 49th hereditary Imam (spiritual leader) of the Shia Ismaili Muslims, and Founder and Chairman of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN), will deliver the keynote lecture at the Institute for Canadian Citizenship’s (ICC) 10th Annual LaFontaine-Baldwin Symposium, on Friday, October 15, 2010, at the Royal Conservatory of Music’s Koerner Hall in Toronto.

The ICC was founded by the Right Honourable Adrienne Clarkson, 26th Governor General of Canada, in 2005 as her legacy project, and is co-chaired by John Ralston Saul.

LaFontaine Baldwin Lecture: His Highness the Aga KhanHis Highness the Aga Khan is a leader in community development and a strong advocate for diversity. He has often spoken about Canadian pluralism and how Canada can be considered a role model for the world in developing successful pluralist societies. His Highness recently chaired the inaugural board meeting of the Global Centre for Pluralism, Canada’s new international research and education centre dedicated to the study and practice of pluralism worldwide, an initiative in partnership with the Government of Canada.
