KARACHI: Urdu theatre is on its last legs in Pakistan, and ‘Funkaar Junction’ has tried to revive this genre of performance art, freelance filmmaker Ali Shaan Khemani said while talking to Daily Times.
A theatre festival titled ‘Funkaar Junction’ was organised by the Aga Khan Youth & Sports Board, and Khemani was volunteering his services as an acting coach for the budding actors and directors who took part in this competition.
“Through this contest, we have tried to exhibit our culture and its positive aspects. We had received numerous scripts from aspiring playwrights, but only 10 were shortlisted,” Khemani said.
