International Development Student Grows With Aga Khan Foundation

Canadian student Laura Wright was 10 months in Kampala, Uganda with the Aga Khan Foundation and loved the country and the job so much she wants to go back.

University students interested in working in a developing country to learn about themselves, to learn about the world and to contribute to and enjoy it might be interested in Canadian Laura Wright’s experiences in Uganda with the Aga Khan Foundation (AKF).

The 22-year-old Wright recently returned from 10 months working in Kampala as a part of the Aga Khan Foundation’s ongoing work in Africa.

“I hope to return to East Africa at some point after finishing my degree and continue working with local education NGO’s on ways of bettering the quality of and access to education,” she says. “And I’d like to continue working with organizations like the Aga Khan Foundation that focus on enabling people to empower themselves.
