It is not by accident that the Dalai Lama chose Canada for his work. Peace is the first constitutional precept by which our country is governed. As Chan points out, in addition to the Dalai Lama Center here in Vancouver, Canada is home to two other important initiatives dedicated to making the world a better place: The Canadian Museum for Human Rights, now under construction in Winnipeg, and the Aga Khan’s Global Centre for Pluralism, which will be built in Ottawa.
