Karim Manji is heading off to the University of Western Ontario in London to pursue a degree in Medical Sciences. The Markham resident and graduate of Bayview Secondary School in Richmond Hill, is one of a select few students to reach the York Region District School Board’s top-ten list of scholars with his 98 per cent average.
As students head back to classes next week, he shares his secrets to success, crediting his high school achievements to his ability to stay positive and convince himself that it is possible to achieve perfect marks.
“Every time there is something new to be done, I think to myself, ‘I’m going to get 100 per cent on this. It’s not impossible,’ and that’s the mindset I work with.”
A student of Bayview’s International Baccalaureate program, Mr. Manji not only fulfilled the challenging courses, but also got involved in school life.
