Fahid the man who does art with renderings of love paintings and a variety of other art work displayed by Fahim Hamid in Wasani art gallery, is a collection of recordings of love on canvas. When Weekender checked out his art work at Slip Way hotel to find how he enhances the work of nature to portray love, writes Weekender writer.

Fahim also has had the honour of painting Prince Karim Aga Khan’s first ever portrait on glass.

A charity exhibition courtesy of Aga Khan Foundation last Saturday was graced by the calligraphic paintings of Fahim Hamid Ali.  Speaking to Weekender, he said, some 16 years back, he invented a style of writing Bismillah and other Quranic words and phrases, which is very much like English “script” with long strokes nicely curved at the transitions and flourishes at the end.

His art pieces at the gallery, are tellingly a distinctive quality of the style imparted by some extra elongation with words tilted in different angles are written with the brush. The background is textured and sprayed with dots. In small sizes this calligraphy looks good but in one large panel, it looks rather sparse and thin.
