AKUH Wins Award for Best Practices on Occupational Safety and Health

High standards in occupational safety and health have earned Aga Khan University Hospital (AKUH) the highest award at the national level annual competition organised by Employers’ Federation of Pakistan (EFP).

AKUH received the award for ‘Best Practices on Occupational Safety and Health’ at the Award Distribution ceremony held at the occasion of International Day on Safety and Health, organised by EFP along with the International Labour Organisation (ILO) and UNAIDS.

“This award celebrates the hard work of the entire team,” said Hakim Ali Khan, Chairman Safety Committee, AKUH. “Leadership, commitment and employee participation is the key factor in maintaining high standards.”

The criteria for the award include Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) management programme, leadership commitment, staff participation, goals and objectives, training programmes and progress, EHS departmental setup, incident reporting and analysis, emergency preparedness, employee health monitoring programme and performance monitoring and measurement and improvement.

AKUH is committed to high quality care through a meticulous process of continual quality assurance.
