A four – day scientific conference attracting pediatricians from around the world starts in Mombasa next week to deliberate on the best ways of handling child diseases.
The conference, which meets under the auspices of Kenya Pediatric Association, will feature among other areas infectious diseases, newborn resuscitation, HIV symposium, nutrition, dermatology, psychiatry, malaria, and immunization.
In a press release on Friday, Kenya Pediatric Association chairman, Professor Fred Were, said the conference dubbed ‘Kenya Pediatric Association Eighth Annual Scientific Conference’ starts on April 25 and closes on April 28 at the Nyali Beach Hotel in Mobasa.
This year’s theme prof. Were said is “Best Practice in Pediatrics”. “The conference will bring together the largest gathering of pediatricians from Africa and other parts of the world to deliberate on issues pertaining to disease of children and to gain knowledge and share professional experiences in a variety of areas of the profession”, prof. Were added.
He said Kenya’s renown pediatrician prof. Nimrod Bwibo will preside over the opening ceremony while prof. William Macharia of the Agha Khan University will present the keynote address.
