Assistant Website Content Editor (Internship)
The Institute of Ismaili Studies
The Institute of Ismaili Studies seeks an Assistant Website Content Editor to work in our busy Information Technology & Website Unit, to start as soon as possible. This position is offered as a 10-month renewable internship.
The Institute’s website, launched in July 2000, is an important resource for Ismaili and Shi‘i Studies. Partly available in four languages, the website contains news and information about the Institute and its programmes, articles dealing with various aspects of Islam and Muslim societies and audiovisual galleries on the literature, culture and history of Muslim peoples, with a focus on Ismaili communities. The Assistant Website Content Editor’s role is to develop the site through new content and re-purposing of content from other sources.
Candidates for this position should have excellent writing, communication and research skills and be able to work well independently and as part of a team. A background in the Humanities or Social Sciences is desirable, as is a preference for candidates who have an academic background in Ismaili Studies. Knowledge of Arabic, French or Farsi would be useful. Technical skills are not a prerequisite, although familiarity with websites is important.
The closing date is Friday 23rd February 2007.
