The Austin Chronicle Fifteenth Annual Short Story Contest – Shaila Abdullah’s story is one of the finalists

Wednesday, February 7: BookPeople will host a party honoring the finalists of the 15th Annual Austin Chronicle Short Story Contest and announce the winners at 7pm. Join us for free food and drinks while winners read their short stories. Shaila Abdullah’s story “Sins of Monsoons” excerpted from her new novel Saffron Dreams is one of the finalists.

Finalists will be notified on Monday, January 29.

BookPeople will host the party honoring the finalists and announce the winners on Wednesday, February 7 at 7pm. Join us for free food and drinks while winners read their short stories.

$1,500 in prize money will be divided among the five winners.

The winning manuscript to be published in the February 9, 2007, issue of The Austin Chronicle.
